We were pleased with our six nights at K + K Opera. The location is excellent--two minutes from the Metro, a short walk to the Danube and several key sights, and almost next door to the impossibly ornate opera house. There are lovely restaurants and cafes all along Andrassy Avenue and Liszt Terrace, just steps away. The staff were helpful in getting us acclimated to Budapest (Metro tickets, tours, etc.), and we didn't starve: the breakfast buffet included bacon and eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, bread, pastries, and, catering to all tastes I guess, pickled vegetables. The mini chocolate croissants were addictive, and champagne is available so you can fortify yourself with a mimosa first thing in the A.M. The room was medium sized, perfectly clean, with good closet space. Also, during the hottest summer in Budapest history, we were thankful that the air conditioning worked! At night the hotel is very quiet; it's on a side street (which also means there's no memorable window view). You couldn't call the K + K luxurious, but it's modern in style, well run, clean, freshly decorated, welcoming. For two people who wanted to do lots of sightseeing and museum hopping and then relax and rest in our room, it was a terrific place to stay.
