The rooms were not clean, furniture was worn and outdated, and we were able to actually pick up the safe-box that was in the closet. I was traveling with my mother and was embarressed to have her stay here. Rap music was playing in the lobby & dining room during breakfast. We booked the highest category for hotels for our package; this hotel should only be offered to GO TODAY travelers booking the lowest category hotel. Review Provided by: B. In actuality Florence is a small city, and the Arno River is in the center of it all. The Balestri is easy walking distance to everything! It is very close to the Ponte Vecchio and Uffidzi Gallery. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the water. Very traditional and charming!
