Description A quick jaunt from the city of Rome is the town of Tivoli, built on the slopes of the Sabine Hills. Hadrian`s Villa was built by Emperor Hadrian in the second century AD as a country residence. It features an imperial palace, baths, libraries, and gardens full of sculptures and pools. Nearby is the Villa d`Este, built during the late Renaissance by Lucretia Borgia`s son, famous for its gardens, marvelous fountains, waterfalls, and ancient trees. Note: The beauty of this place is admired going up and down some flights of steps.
