Description
You will travel by motorcoach to Vatican City - the smallest independent sovereign state in the world. In the Vatican Museum, you will be shown a fine collection of antiques. The visit includes:

The Sculpture Museum

The fascinating Tapestry Gallery

The Gallery of Maps

The world famous Sistine Chapel, decorated by Michelangelo
The tour will then proceed to St. Peter's Basilica, where you will view the art treasures of the largest Roman Catholic Church in the world, including Michelangelo's Pieta.

Notes

Sightseeing Details: This tour is provided on a pre-reserved basis. Tours are confirmed upon receipt of payment and are non-refundable and non-changeable.

Meeting point: Hotel pick-ups are arranged at the time of tour confirmation; these take place between 7:45 am and 8:15 am.

Ending point: Return to hotels or nearest central drop-off point.

Year round: Departs Vastours terminal daily except Sunday and Catholic holidays at 8:30 am

Blackout dates: Tour closed Dec 25th and January 1; no tour March 16, 2008 due to the Rome Marathon.

Entrance fees: All entrances included.

Child discount: Applies for children age 2-8; under 2 are free.

English speaking guide only - headphones are provided

Please note: Guided tours of St. Peter's are not allowed if religious ceremonies are taking place inside or outside the basilica. Visitors wearing shorts or sleeveless tops are not admitted to churches. During high season there may be queues occasionally at the entrance to the museum.

Wednesdays: When there is a Papal Audience in Vatican City, there is a possibility that the basilica will be closed to the public.
