Exhibition and theater tour. The Globe Theatre, founded by Sam Wanamaker, is a faithful reconstruction of the Elizabethan playhouse. Now, a second part of Sam's great dream has been realized. Beneath the theatre is the vast UnderGlobe where every aspect of Shakespeare's work is brought imaginatively to life using a combination of modern technology and traditional crafts. Explore Bankside, the Soho of Elizabethan London, follow Sam's struggle to recreate an authentic Globe for the twentieth century and beyond, and take a fascinating tour of today's working theatre.

Closed 24 and 25 December.
April 23 to October 5: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Globe tours run all day on Mondays and in the mornings only on Tuesday to Sunday. Afternoon tours go to the nearby site of the Rose. Early October to April 22: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Globe tours run all day. There is no access to the Globe theatre during matinee performances.
Tours begin every fifteen minutes during opening hours.
Children under 5 free; 5-15 get child rate
