Edinburgh Escape Reviews

we traveled in early december to edinburgh. weather was very pleasant, hotel (ramada mt. royal) was the best location you could have, the breakfasts were wonderful (get a table overlooking the Castle Gardents). Can't say enough wonderful things about the city of Edinburgh. The city was decorated for Christmas and was fabulous. The Castle Gardens are transformed into a Winter Wonderland with ice rink, German Village, feris wheel, and lights galore. The sights are absolutely amazing, we love the history of the city. The castle, holyrood palace, museums, pubs, restaurants, the scottish people are just wonderful. The city is easy to walk in, everything is very accessible. This is our 3rd trip with Go today, we have a fourth booked for february and we can't say enough good things about the quality for the money of the trips you provide. Can't wait to go to Cabo in Feb!! Thanks again, Donna H. Mills

We just returned from our Edinburgh Winter Special trip. We couldn't have been more pleased. The city is wonderful, so much to experience. The Maitland Hotel was very satisfactory, the staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is a full breakfast. The Maitland is centrally located with a camera shop, Safeway Market, pharmacy, banks, restaurants in the same block. (we recommend the La Piazza Restaurant which is in the same block). The Maitland is an older hotel but has a charm of its own. The rooms vary. Our room was sllightly larger than that of our traveling companions. The flights went smoothly. We barely made the London to Edinburgh flight as the lines, security at Heathrow are very time consuming.

This was my 2nd Go-Today vacation and it was just as terrific! The Maitland Hotel staff were superb and the hotel was right down the street from Edinburgh Castle! Now where to go next?? :)

We had a wonderful trip to Edinburgh through go-today.com. Booking was simple, the flights convenient, and the hotel magnificent. A super travel experience in every respect. We're already planning our next vacation!

We really enjoyed staying at the Bonham hotel. The staff was very professional, the food excellent and the location was quiet but very close to the center of the city and to bus stops. A truly remarkable hotel in a remarkable city.

Dears Sirs:

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the trip to Edinburgh this January. The weather was great, the people friendly and the city was certainly a 5 on must sees. The value was extraordinary. There was so much to see we never got a chance to leave town. Thank you for putting this great vacation together. The maitland Hotel was just fine and we were able to walk the whole city from theat location.

The city of Edinburgh is absolutely breathtaking. One of the strongest impressions a city has made on me, with the medieval hill going parallel to the modern avenue; very beautiful. It is also very easy to get around and the locals are wonderfully friendly. However, the Maitland Hotel was absolutely awful because the hallways were dirty (wallpaper and carpeting), the bathroom has major plumbing problems, and the room was freezing, no matter what the helpful staff tried to do to fix it. It does have its location to recommend it, though. I recommend a visit to Rosslyn Chapel, which is beautiful and unique in its arquitecture and magnificent carvings, plus its interesting history, but found Stirling Castle overrated, only the Great Hall is interesting to look at. The highlands and lochs are definitely worth a drive.

My friend and I just got back yesterday from the Edinburgh 4 days trip.
We had a wonderful time!!!! Edinburgh is a beautiful city with friendly people
who don't mind taking the time to be polite.
The Old Waverly hotel, is a nice place to stay, from our room we had
a direct view of Jenner's department store and Edinburgh Castle (which is lit up prettily
at night) We used Timberbush tours to take a day trip of the Highlands and that
was an experience in itself.
Go-today.com, you put together a wonderful package!

We had a wonderful time in Edinburgh. Our three teenaged children also enjoyed the history and culture tremendously. It is a beautiful, unforgettable city. Our hotel, the Roxburghe, was outstanding. The only hitch was on our return flight from Edinburgh to London. British Midland cancelled our flight and luckily we were able to hook up with British Airways back to London and then to Chicago. British Airways was terrific. All in all, a most enjoyable trip for a very reasonable amount of money!!

Excellent mini vacation...5 days four nights..Maitland hotel accommodations were good..Friendly staff and breakfast was excellent...Airport to hotel on city bus was 5 pounds (door to door..Pubs and shopping were great..The Maitland Hotel is next door to a casino..Edinburgh castle tour was interesting and we took a train ride to Sterling to sight see and visit Sterling Castle..Connecting flights were not a problem with sufficient time between flights..Highly recommend and plan to travel with go-today.com in the future...... What an awesome city! If you are a "Braveheart" fan and love history, this is definitely the place. This was my 6th trip with Go-Today. Edinburgh is so easy to get around and you can catch a bus and pay in advance for your return for under $7.00. Our hotel was great and situated right near the Castle. We were able to walk the entire town easily. Besides the Castle and Holyrood Palace don't miss the National Museum and Art Gallery. A trip to Sterling Castle is also a must. The people are friendly and our hotel staff both in the restaurant and the front desk were very helpful. The rooms were also great. Thanks go-today.com for allowing my family the opportunity to see the world.

Returned today from your Edinburgh, Scotland 4-night trip. Maitland Hotel was good, right on the bus stop from the airport,& within walking distance of everything. Great restaurants nearby. Safe city after dark. You came through! Many thanks, Stephen L. Snow. P.S. We'll do more business in the near future.

Well, you did it again--provide a great vacation at an even greater price! My sister and I just returned from your 4 night winter break in Edinburgh. The Old Waverly Hotel was centrally located and offered the best breakfast I have ever had in Europe. The people in Edinburgh are the friendliest and the food was GOOD! Three or four nights is a perfect amount of time to spend in this interesting city. I can hardly wait to book my next trip with you!

Took 4 night trip. Maitland Hotel was excellent in its price range, convient location, good breakfast, too. March was a good time to be in Edinburgh as few tourists were around and crowds were way down. Cool, but not too wet. Friendliest, nicest people ever!

This was my college daughter's "dream trip." I went along not expecting to have such a thoroughly delightful time! A first trip abroad for both of us, I would highly recommend this traveler friendly city to any other first-timer. The Old Waverley Hotel was a delightful "base." Its close proximity to Waverley Station allowed us to day trip to St. Andrews and Stirling. We found the Scots to be eager to share a story or offer help. Although Edinburgh is a large city, we felt quite safe. We are monitoring the go-today.com website and planning our next trip!!

Edinburgh is a must see city--where else can you go shopping with a castle in the background and a palace within walking distance. I loved the tour. The OLD Waverly Hotel was great-very clean , nicely furnished and centrally located. The Scots are very friendly and proud of their beautiful city. I would just like to recommend that more connecting time be allowed on the flights to and from London Heathrow and Edinburgh. British Midland was late both times and we really had to hustle to make the flight back to the USA. I can't wait for more vacation time so I can return to Edinburgh or go on another go-today.com trip!

My wife and I rate the winter tour to Edinburgh as one of the very best vacations we have ever taken. The Maitland was great, convenient location and suberb breakfast. We took a tour with Rabbie Tours and highly recommend Julian Ward as a guide. The flights/transfers/etc went off without a hitch. You can bet we will use go-today for our next vacation which hopefully will be very soon. Thank you.
