The guide was very knowledgable and the driver experienced. It felt that everything that was worth seing on this trip we did see. Food was plain but that is the way Turkish food is. Although the trip states that food is included the drinks, even water, have to be paid for. It would probably be nicer to take the trip in the spring or fall. Winter is cold and we had a lot of snow and cold weather. We went during December. About the only negative thing I have to say is about the person who got our trip together. We wanted to make our trip longer so we ended having more days in Istanbul. Once we got to Ankara to start our tour with the guide we found out that all the other people in the van (seven of them) were continuing past Izmir up to Troy and were driving into Istanbul. It would have made our trip two days longer so that instead of Friday we would have returned on Sunday and I would have SEEN Troy. We were never given the option, and that upset me very much. I would have loved to stay on with the group. I don't understand why Diana from GoToday did not tell us about it. She did not seem very knowledgable and that was too bad for us. We had to find out most of the information about Turkey on our own. Aside from that unfortunate incident this was one of the most interesting trips I have went on and I have been on many. I recommend this tour. There is a lot of walking through the old ruins of Greek and Roman cities and through the underground cities of Capadocia, but it is all worth it.
