waldorf was bad for even a "low end " traveler such as myself--no hot water-very narrow beds. Wanted to save the last night of package following doing a circuit of the country "no" when we came back and asked them to check our luggage for a few hours they said no since we wer'nt guests. wathch the waldorf--they could hurt you. all in all I considered the trip worth the money (despite the waldorf) and would travel with you guys again because you are good value--M. We have traveled all over Europe and BA is is great. Very European-a lot like Barcelona. It is safe-sophisticated and a great bargain. Excellent food, great shopping-pay in American $ for best prices. I bought 3 great suits, tailored and 3 dress shirts for $235 total. The Americas Towers hotel is excellent. Great location-you can walk every where. Eat at the restaurants across from the Recolleta Cemetarty. Some great food. Restaurants in the Florida St area are too touristry and not as good. Rooms are as pictured, spacious and are American Standards.Staff at hotel speaks English. We do not speak Spanish and managed the city well in spite of the fact that many people speak little English. Not many American Tourists, but many Europenas and South Africans. The people are friendly and helpfull. The subway is great and only about 29 cents. Go anywhere in a cab for $2 to $3. The city is safer than most American cities. Go-Today was great. Be surre to see the Senor Tango Show, but pay at your hotel - We used credit card to pay at the show and confusing because waiters did not speak English. Stay more than 6 days. Be sure to go too Eva Peron Museum - good history lesson about that period of time and the Perons. Go!!!!!

We loved the place! The people were very gracious, kind and appreciative without being fawning. The weather was wonderful, 70's and sunny everyday. All the arrangement worked perfectly, on time and on schedule. Our hotel, Embajador, is still undergoing renovation. Although the staff was great, it was noisy as all the rooms face the huge main road. It was convenient but we would choose another hotel-- one on a quieter street. The food is fabulous- everything you heard about the beef is to be believed. Prices are terrific- cashmere sweaters for $20.00 each. They have great street fairs on the weekends. My next goal is to stay for a month. You can rent an apartment for $400 for a month. October would be great-- the start of their spring.

I wanted to communicate with everyone who is thinking of going to Buenos Aires what a fantastic city it is. Six of us used go-today (FANTASTIC SERVICE) to visit B.A. in early May (great weather). All of the arrangements were outstanding, especially the transportation on TAM airlines (had never heard of it before) and the accomodations at the Hotel de Las Americas. I can't speak highly enough of the hotel and the staff. Many, many times they went out of their way to make our stay perfect in every way. And the breakfast buffet was delicious with eggs, fresh fruit and juices. A suggestion, however. Plan to extend your stay in B.A. for at least another couple of days. There is so much to see and do, and B.A. is a CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP shoppers' paradise. The food is as wonderful as you've heard and more so, and again very inexpensive. If you like to gamble make sure to pay a visit to the Casino Boat that is permanently docked in the harbor. AND be sure to pay a visit to the Teatro Colon. We go tickets in the Presidential Box for a performance of "The Sleeping Beauty" ballet for $22.50 a person - unbelievable! The only problem with B.A. is that you will become adicted as we all did and will want to return often - we are already planning another visit.

This trip was fantastic! go-today.com did a great job with everything- we did not experience any glitches. The dollar was really strong and it felt like NYC at a third of the cost. The city is very attractive, full of parks and beautiful (thin) people, who are sooo warm, helpful, and friendly. We rec'd a trip to Colonia and Los Tigres. We had great weather- no rain, in the 70s and sunny. Don't miss the fair in San Telmo. We used cabs and the train to get around. We also did a bike tour which was great! Our hotel room was mediocre at the Kempinski Park Elegance- but the staff was friendly and the lobby welcoming. If you like to shop you will be in heaven! We were two females and we always felt safe- strangers looked out for us too. The only negative: smoking is allowed almost anywhere, including clothing stores!! Don't hesitate, book now! This travel bargain can't be beat...

Second time in Buenos Aires was even better than the first. Total trip was an excellant value in a land where the dollar still has some strenght. The provided tour could have been more extensive but that left much to re-see and even more to discover. Excellant trip!

Myself and two friends stayed at the Embajador Hotel and were very pleased with the staff (all spoke English, knew the city, always available to help) and location (right off the largest avenue in the world!).
Buenos Aires offered plenty of things to do during the day, like shopping, watching the tango, and visiting museums and a non-stop nightlife.
We went at the beginning of November which was not quite warm enough for our taste (55-65 F). I recommend going later in the month or the beginning of December when Summer kicks in.
Thanks Go-Today!

This trip was one of the better "value for money" trips I have taken. We left from New Orleans, had a totally smooth connection in DC, great service on the plane, and no problems with customs and immigration. The driver from the airport was personable and pleasant. We stayed at the Waldorf and it was exactly as discribed: moderate, but the rooms were big enough, and "hospital clean". Better yet, the location was great. We had independently booked a bicycle tour of the city and we were able to walk to the location, and also to several other key landmarks. I am really impressed woth Buenos Aries: It is clean, friendly with great food and wine. I never once felt like my pocket could be picked or that the merchants were out to rip me off. I have traveled alot, and I can state that this was one of the best vacations I have had.

This was a fabulous price for such a wonderful destination. The customer service at go-today.com was excellent. Buenos Aires is a lovely European feeling City. “Paris of the South” is a very good description. Speaking a little bit of Spanish would definitely be helpful if you are a more adventurous traveler and like to stray away from the typical tourists spots. The steak and wine was fantastic and we could enjoy 4 course meals with wine nightly, even on a tight budget! Every part of the city has a wonderful unique history and there is so much to see. A must see is the Cemetery in the Recoleta……..amazing. The only complaint we have about the trip was the hotel we selected. We stayed at the Waldorf and the service was terrible. The description of the hotel is not accurate. There was no safe in the room, no restaurant or bar on the premises, the hairdryer was broken and although they would promise a functioning one was on the way, it never arrived. Another problem was housekeeping constantly keying into the room while we were there and the lack of “do not disturb” or “no molestar” signs to hang on the door. The picture of the room on this site was not like any of the rooms we were offered. We really regretted our selection as soon as we arrived but it was too late to switch hotels. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time and certainly plan to return to lovely Buenos Aires and book future vacations through go-today.com!!!

My wife and I recently returned from a wonderful vacation in Buenos Aires. I would like to personally thank each and every fellow traveller that provided a review of their trip. Your thoughts were a huge driver in our decision to book a vacation to Argentina.
We stayed at Hotel Des las Americas in Recoleta. The hotel is moderate to upscale. However, the service is tremendous. They gave us numerous restaurant tips, provided reservations, and often times went way out of their way to give us blue ribbon service. In fact, one of the bellboys actually ran to Teatra Colon to get us fourth row tickets for the BA Philharmonic (and he got tickets when the show was booked)!
I have a couple of recommendations for those of you planning to go to Buenos Aires. There are two restaurants that were extraordinary in quality and value. The first, and my favorite, is Cabanas Las Lilas in Puerto Madero. This has to be one of the finest dining experiences in BA and certainly one of the best steak restaurants in the world! They truck in fresh beef every day from a nearby ranch, their wine list is unbeatable, and the price (with the 3 to one inflation of course) is very affordable. We paid around $65 US dollars for two bottles of wine, two steak dinners, desert, and a Cohiba cigar! The second recommendation is a place called El Trapiche in Palermo Viejo. This is a neighborhood restaurant filled with character and good will. Awesome food, great family ambience, $12 bucks for two!
There were two bars that we really enjoyed and will never forget. The first is a place called El Gran Bar Danzon in Recoleta. You can't find it if you don't have the address (its steps away from the intersection of Libertad and Santa Fe). Beautiful, friendly people, fill this swanky-but-unpretentious bar and enjoy fresh mojitos, belgium beer, and tasty chips and guacomole. We had to literally drag ourselves out of the bar at 5AM. The second place is Club Del Vino in Palermo Viejo. This is a BEAUTIFUL place. Sculptures, artwork, and a beautiful courtyard provide an incredible ambience to enjoy great, affordable wines and listen to LIVE music. We heard an awesome Tango band as we nibbled on fresh meats and cheeses and ipped our Malbec. Great place.
Buy some Cashemere sweaters in the shopping center Galerias Pacificos downtown (at $10 per sweater :) and enjoy some Argentinian ice cream/gelato. The Super dulche de leche is a life-changing experience ;)
Also, you may want to buy Time Out Buenos Aires as a travel companion. Its a very hip book and saved us a lot of time searching for the ideal locale for dinner, drinks, etc.
Chow and I hope you enjoy Buenos Aires as much as we did!

My wife and I recently traveled to Buenos Aires and Montevideo with friends. It was one of the best trips we've ever taken! I would recommend to anyone who loves to shop, eat, and experience the culture. The dollar is very strong, which means everything is on sale. We shopped so much we had to buy an extra suitcase. The food was phenomenal, as was the service. The only bad experience we had was at a Tango Bar; we didn't realize there was a $25 cover charge until we were ready to leave. We spent a day at an estancia with the gauchos, which was time well spent. We were only in Buenos Aires for 4 days, which isn't enough time. We then flew to Montevideo for 3 days. We actually considered cancelling the Montevideo trip to spend more time in Buenos Aires, but I am glad we didn't. Although more laid back, we had a great time in Montevideo. The shopping and dining were comparable to Buenos Aires. If you like casinos, and we do, you can gamble in Montevideo. We definitely plan to visit these cities again, although we will allow more time next time.

Just returned from a very good trip to Buenos Aires. Stayed at the Caesar Park for 6 nights. Hotel staff very helpful (as we do not speak Spanish at all). They arranged a night to the Tango show. United Airlines flights were on time. The city itself is beautiful, vibrant. People, sights, food - great. We walked a lot , felt very safe (of course we stayed in Ricoleta, which is the most exclusive area of the city). Thanks - go-today.com!

We booked with go-today.com for Buenos Aires and had total satisfaction. My first hotel choice wasn't available so we were booked into the Melina bu GT and the hotle was 1st class! We did 3 side trips:tango dinner;pampas;and a trip on the river. The first 2 were really good while the river trip could be skipped. All connections were timely including the one at the airport-we were 3.5 hrs. late. Would i book with Go-Today again? Yes! Joe Grinkewicz

The Buenos Aires package was a great value. United Airlines does a good job on the international flights. The people of Buenos Aires were very friendly and kind. The city was beautiful. The food was fantastic. Argentine beef is the best in the world. I can't say enough about the staff at the Central Park Kempinski. The service was polite and friendly. They always had great recommendations for restuarants and helped us plan our wanderings. They really took care of my wife and I. The hotel was right next to "El Obelisko" so it was easy to tell the cab drivers where to go when returning to the hotel. The breakfasts in the mornings was very hearty. Eggs, bacon, plus the usual continental fare. This was our second go-today.com trip. While we were in BA my parents were enjoying London on a go-today.com package. We look forward to our next go-today.com trip! Thank you.

The hotel as chosen cozey and clean The dollar exchange great.Food was unbeleavable good only got better as we wondered thru the area. Great steak at a great price. Wonderful pasteries and the beer and wine super. The shopping was so fine beautiful leather and suede. The casmeire sweaters OH MY. We had a divine time at the Tango show and dinner. great entertainment at a great price and were waited on hand and foot. This city has most wonderful parks everywhere such a pleasurer to see and enjoy. Many US cities could take a lesson and creat more green space. We enjoyed the Tegrei river cruise and picnic. Our ferry to Colonia Uruguay a delightful experiance. We have traveled with "gotoday.com" several times and always successful and very pleased with the trip. Agreat travel adventure.

We stayed at the America's towers (Recolata)with a bilingual staff. A real plus in navigating B.A. We speak very little spanish. But besides the cab (which are very cheap, but remember to get a card with the hotels address on it!) we were able to find someone who spoke english. We felt very safe walking the streets day, and night. Excellent cafes, and restaurants right by the hotel (Santa Fe 1234, Los Molinos). We took a day trip to Colonia Uruguay. Shopped at the mall. Excellent quality leather is very cheap. Eating very late was hard to get used to. But enjoyed the excellent cheap wine, and beer with the generous portions of steak. As with most visitors we were steaked out by thursday but very good italian fare is served in B.A. Very friendly city, with lots to see. Hope to go back soon!!!

Hola! Fantastic vacation! Though speaking spanish is helpful, its not critical. Quite a bit of B.A. portenos spoke english! We stayed at the Americas Towers with it bilingual staff. A plus for getting information on the ins and outs of Buenos Aires. The Hotel was one block the the 9 de Julio. We walked the 9 de Julio and Sante Fe and felt very secure. A matter of fact the Portenos are very friendly and are quick to help. Taxi rides are cheap (we took radio taxis). The restaurants superb. We found two excellent ones on Santa Fe. Santa Fe 1234, and Los Molinas (the windmill) Menus were in english. We took the ferry to Colonia Uruguay. A great day side trip. Not to expensive either. We signed up for the Gaucho Fiesta. The table we sat at were mostly Cubans, and Columbians. After a couple of bottles of wine they were kissing and dancing with us, and spoke amazing good english! We had lots and lots of great steaks, empanadas, potato salad, green salad, just way too much food!!! Leather is the best bargain in B.A. We paid in American dollars and got even a better deal. The food, the wine, the people. We plan to go back next year. Da nada!!!

There are two features which really set go-today.com apart from the other Internet travel companies. First, the breadth of possible travel destinations (Mexico is offered on hundreds of sites, but often does one see Machu Picchu?) Second, the "price it" feature is fantastic. This online calculator enables a person to immediately determine the price of a trip; thereby, eliminiating countless e-mails to a travel agent and avoiding the standard reply of: " I'll get back to you with that information."
As for our trip to Argentina, we were very satisfied with the all aspects of our vacation. Day trips were on schedule and exactly as described on the web site. Additionally, we did not encounter any problems with the other services offered through go-today.com -- e.g. taxis to/from the airport. The city of Buenos Aires is a wonderful mix of European and South American culture. We spent several afternoons just enjoying the summer weather in the many parks and cafes of the city. At the same time, we added on optional excursions, such as the nighttime dinner/tang show (highly recommended) and a visit to an estancia to try the renowned Argentine parrilla (steak will never taste the same again!) Although Buenos Aires is a fairly large city, taxis are abundant and cheap providing easy access to tourist highlights such as La Boca, Plaza de Mayo, Puerto Madero and the Recoleta cemetery. And with the currency currently pegged at 2.85 pesos to 1 dollar, it makes the city even more affordable for Western tourists (anything leather is a fantastic souvenir item.) In fact, our only complaint is in regards to the hotel personnel at Park Plaza Kempinski (Recoleta). We were not able to check in until 15:00 (we arrived at 11:00 and after a 10-hour flight, one is in desperate need of a shower and cozy bed)and we were required to check out of the hotel at noon on the day of our departure (even though our taxi to the airport was not due to arrive until 19:20.) They did offer to store our luggage; however, on previous travels, we noticed that the staff was generally more accomodating to their international visitors. Other aspects of the hotel -- location and cleanliness -- were commendable.
Overall, we were very happy with our trip and your company. Thank you for a wonderful (and easy) traveling adventure. We are already looking forward to planning our next vacation with go-today.com.

A wonderful value. My wife and I stayed 6 nights at de las americas and were more than pleased with the accomodations and location. BA is every bit the bargain you have heard about; if you are a beef eater, huge fork-cut fillets for $5-6. Beautiful city, friendly people, $3 cab rides just about anywhere. We spent quite a bit of time in the inner city shopping centers and they compare favorably with the best here in the US except your dollar just buys 2 to 3 times more than it does stateside. We extended two nights on our own to Iquazu Falls and they are absolutely stunning. We talked with another couple who visited Barilroche and they had nothing but good things to say as well. We traveled by plane, train, cab, subway and by foot while in Argentina and felt comfortable and safe everywhere, although we did thwart a pick pocket attempt while shopping. This was our first trip to South America, but felt it compared favorably with anyplace in Europe. Fine dining, exquisite wines, bargain shopping, and friendly people in a large, clean cosmopolitan city.....what's not to like?

Our recent trip to Buenos Aires was perfect in every way. We stayed in the Recoleta area of the city, which is an upscale area that is quiet at night and early in the morning. BA is a very busy and noisy city, with crazy traffic, so we were glad of our hotel choice. The hotel is small, gorgeous, immaculate, beautifully furnished. Their staff could not be nicer, and were so helpful with advice, directions, and ideas. With the devaluation of the peso (3:$1.00), everything was very inexpensive. A wonderful steak dinner complete with wine at a nice restaurant would cost $30 or less. And you can eat much more cheaply if you wish. Shopping is incredible: we each had leather jackets custom made, bought incredible suede pocketbooks, and CDs are dirt cheap, and actually are the best buy in the city... cost $2-6, US. Their art museums are wonderful. Don't miss a tour of their opera house, Theatro Colon. The accoustics there are perfect, and tickets are very reasonable! We attended a childrens performance of Hansel and Gretel on Sun am at 11, and I think childrens concerts are held every Sunday. This is an inexpensive way to see and hear an opera, and understand the story as well. Also, don't miss the concerts offered at the Borges Cultural Center which is on the top floor of Galeria Pacificos, a fancy shopping mall on the main shopping street: Florida. Concerts are incredible, and cost $4.00...govt. subsidized. This is the time to go to BA, so don't miss it. Go-today.com arranged excellent flights, and we are thrilled with this company. We got rack rates of our hotel while there, and realized what a great deal go-today.com gives. We are an older couple, and always felt safe. We traveled by taxi, with the most expensive fare being $2.00 US, and by publice metro which costs about 25 cents US. BA is the best travel bargain today, to an exciting city with wonderful cultural events, fabulous food, and incredible shopping. So, Go-Today!!

You did it again, go-today.com. Paris of the South is an understatement about Buenos Aires. I had heard but could not comprehend how "European" B.A. was. Our hotel, "C" class, de las Americas, was a very nice 4-star, with buffet breakfasts and all of the amenities. And, wow, the currency exchange! We just took the Italy trip in December, 02, and were hit with the strong Euro. But the opposite is true in B.A. The dollar, which was 1 to 1 with the Argentine peso, is now almost 3 to 1. The price in peso's has not gone up, so the price in dollars on everything, from the magnificent food to fashion clothing, was at 60% off to the dollar. I bought a Christian Dior suit for a little over U$S200. The fashions in B.A. are the top European. I never thought I would eat again as well as we did in Paris, but B.A. was that and more. It has wonderful patisseries everywhere, just like Paris, the best of the Italian "gellato", which puts U.S. ice cream to shame, and Italian and French restaurants, as well as the wonderful Argentine restaurants, that are the equal of anything in Europe, except at 60% off. You can take a taxi anywhere in town, there are 16,000 of them, for a dollar or two U.S. You walk out onto any street and waive down a taxi (get a radio taxi). It helps to know a little Spanish, but you can get by without it. Argentina is not a "Latin American" country, but a European one located in South America. Fast food puts the U.S. to shame. My first meal in B.A., at a fast food place was the equivalent of a New York strip steak, with 3 sides and a drink, U$S 3.50. The Argentines love their beef. In the same food court (at Galleria Pacifico, a shopping mall), were wonderful pastry shops, other Argentine steak restaurants, Italian and French restaurants. But the food delivered "fast" is of high restaurant quality. Our hotel was a half-block away from Avenida Santa Fe, as nice a shopping street as is anywhere in the world. And I highly recommend the Dinner and Tango Show option. Wonderful meal at a classic restaurant and the Tango show was terrific. I'm not a dancer, by the way. This is just a wonderful evening. All in all, it was just a magnificent trip, the equal of any of European trip we've taken. Thanks for coming through again, Go-Today.
