Travel To Bolivia
More information on our destinations in Bolivia
Travel To Bolivia South American Indian culture comes to life in Bolivia, a country filled with myth, legend and mystery. Bolivia is home to the highest natural lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. This location is where the Tiwanaku culture developed advanced agricultural techniques. Later this area became part of the Incan Empire. With its stunning snowcapped scenery and amazing deep blue water you will love exploring this famed lake.

Bolivia is also home to another high point. Its capital, La Paz, is the highest altitude capital in the world! The city features a gorgeous skyline, featuring mountain peaks. There are many sites to see including ancient stones of the Coricancha. This temple was once filled with huge gold sculptures and a giant golden image of the sun. Sadly, none of gold is there today, however you can explore the magnificent ruins.

Surrounded by the snowy peaks of the Illimani Mountain, La Paz has absolutely stunning scenery. It is not just its natural surrounds that make La Paz an amazing place to visit. The people living in the city make a visit to La Paz unforgettable. Holding on to their past and traditions, the residents of the city make you feel like you have stepped back into time. The women wear traditional clothing everyday; bright and colorful attire from another time.

As you venture the city of La Paz you will want to shop at the many shops set up throughout the streets. You can pick up a number of items at these shops; from candy and gum to colorful souvenirs to take home. Even if you do not purchase anything it is still exciting to tour through the street vendors.

The country of Bolivia is home to many other spectacular sites and ancient ruins, all waiting for you to explore. You can also take jungle tours, shop in open air markets and much more! There are also numerous festivals throughout the year celebrating the ancient South American Indian cultures.
