Cassidy Hotel: Fantastic lodging, fabulous location, wonderful staff, amazing breakfast, first stop for the bus from the airport. Use a Hop on Hop Bus. Research getting a Dublin Pass. If you want to see places on the pass, buy it ahead of time.
Kinnity Castle: The sign on the driveway up to the castle reads "Open to Visitors since 1209." It is the real deal. A fairy tale experience. The staff is amazing. You are out in the middle of nowhere. Take a book and enjoy the regal sitting room or the library bar. Excellent food.
Hertz: It is as close to the edge of Dublin as you can get, but it was still a challenge to get out of town and an even bigger challenge to get back in. We were less than an hour late due to getting lost in Dublin and were charged an extra day. Dublin has few street signs. Maps are very little help.
Delta Airlines: Crew was nice. Food was good. However, the flight schedule was a nightmare. We were originally scheduled to leave at 10:20am and arrive Dublin 7am. Delta canceled our flight and rerouted us giving us an additional 6 hour layover. On the way back, we had a 26 min flight from Dublin to Shannon, had to get off the plane with all of our hand carried luggage for a 2 1/2 hour layover. We had to have all of our hand carried luggage throughly searched to reboard the plane. Got off in Atlanta which is where we then went through customs. The Delta employees receiving international flights were abrasive and embarrasing. We have never been treated that way in other countries. After clearing through customs, there was no moniter in the area for connecting flights. You had to wait in line for a customer service person to look up our flight and verify the gate. On the way to Dublin the films were "Love Story" (the vintage film) and Marie Antoinette. On the way back we saw "Love Story" again and Marie Antoinette two times. I will never fly Delta again. It took 23 hours to go from Dublin to LAX.

This was a great vacation. Go Today was completely flawless in handling our arrangements. We stayed at the Days Inn on Talbot Street and Kinnity Castle. The Days Inn is small, not unlike most European hotels, but nice. It's in a good location, within walking distance to most attractions (with the exception of the Guinness Brewery, which we found out the hard way.) Transfers were very easy and the people in Dublin (all of Ireland, really) are eager to help if you need directions or a travel tip. We picked up our car from Hertz on Saturday and the staff there were extremely helpful and congenial. Kinnity Castle was a disappointment at first. We were given a room on the third floor (no elevators) that had the hardest mattress ever and paper thin walls. There was a wedding going on and several Christmas parties. We had an ABSOLUTE blast hanging out in the Monk's Kitchen and Dungeon Bar. However, after we went to bed we could literally hear every word uttered by our rowdy neighbors next door. BUT the staff at Kinnity made it right when we complained. After the wedding crowd left, the moved us into one of the most beautiful rooms in the castle (the yellow one in all their media pictures.) It was AWESOME. The bed was still harder than what we're used to but the room was absolutely beautiful!! We felt like royalty. Renting the car was definitely the way to go for us. The roads in Ireland are considerably less developed than American roads but we considered it quite an adventure after we got accustomed to the length of time it takes to travel from one place to another. Overall, this was a GREAT trip. I will definitely use Go Today for our next overseas vacation. Everything went very smoothly and we have the memories of a lifetime!
