Your trip to the beautiful Emerald Isle begins when you board your evening flight bound for Shannon in Ireland.
Day 2: Arrive in Shannon
This morning you arrive into Ireland over a beautiful green patchwork landscape. Once you pick up your bags and go through customs you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to Galway. We arrive in Galway, “the city of Tribes” named after the fourteen families who originally settled in the area. You are free to relax and enjoy the many historic sights of Galway. They include the Church of St. Nicholas, dedicated to sailors and according to research was visited by Columbus in 1477, The Claddagh made famous but the Claddagh Ring, Eyre square which was officially renamed “Kennedy Memorial Park” in honor of President John F Kennedy. This evening you will meet with you Tour Director and fellow tour passengers.
Overnight: Harbour Hotel or similar
Day 3: Connemara - the wild west
This morning, after a hearty Irish breakfast we shall explore the rugged yet serene Connemara area which John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara made famous in the classic, “A Quiet Man”. This rocky land of broad-backed mountains and pearl-like lakes is the largest Irish speaking section of the country and the old traditions and way of life are as much a part of Connemara’s attractions as is the scenery. We drive along the shores of Lough Corrib and then westward through Maam Cross to Leenane, a village famous for its angling and mountain climbing. We return to Galway for the evening, where you are free to enjoy the many pubs and restaurants Galway has to offer. (B)
Overnight: Harbour Hotel or similar
Day 4: Galway/Co. Donegal
Leaving Galway, we travel to Knock, where we visit the Marian Shrine and Basilica, Ireland’s place of pilgrimage. We continue on to the grave of William Butler Yeats, Irish poet, dramatist, mystic and public figure. His grave reminds us of his famous works, so special to the Irish people. We continue along the North West coast stopping to enjoy the charming towns and landscape of County of Donegal before we check in for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Overnight: Radisson SAS Hotel or similar
Day 5: Giants Causeway/Antrim Coast
This morning after breakfast we will be exploring some of the rugged scenery of Northern Ireland. Today we visit the Giants Causeway, often described as the "eighth wonder of the world". Here we shall take the circular walk around the spectacular rock formations and have time in the visitors center. Staying on the coastal road, we shall enjoy the stunning scenery of the Antrim coast before arriving in Belfast in the late afternoon. Tonight you are free in downtown Belfast.(B)

Day 6: Belfast
After breakfast this morning we depart our hotel for a panoramic sightseeing tour of Belfast City. The birthplace of the Titanic and home to some of the world’s most famous faces, Belfast is rich in history and steeped in culture. Today it is as famous for its stylish shops, gourmet restaurants and fun-filled nightlife as it is for its troubled past. Some of the notable sights we will see are Belfast City Hall, Linen Hall Library, Stormont House, Grand Opera House, St. Anne's Cathedral, Ulster Museum and the Botanic Gardens. At the end of your tour you may wish to visit one of the city's fine art galleries or museums or perhaps have a pint at the historical Crown Bar, where you can admire the tin roof, stained glass windows and traditional snug’s! We continue on to Armagh city, an ancient religious site of worship for both Celtic paganism and Christianity. We enjoy a tour of the City before continuing on to the beautiful 15th century Cabra Castle, situated in Kingscourt Co. Cavan where we will spend our final night in Ireland. (B, D)
